Princess Kate confirms exciting news about Christmas
Despite her health scare, the Princess of Wales is getting ready to host her annual Christmas carol concert this year.
Catherine, 42, held a private meeting on Tuesday after disclosing in a heartfelt update earlier this month that her cancer treatment was over.
“The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, held a meeting at Windsor Castle this morning,” stated an entry in the Court Circular.
We have learned that Catherine met with members of her team and officials from the Royal Foundation to go over preparations for her Christmas carol service, which will happen at Westminster Abbey later this year.
It follows a meeting she called to discuss her early years work last week.
The Princess will be hosting the joyous event for the fourth time; last year, her proud husband, the Prince of Wales, and all three of their kids attended.
The event will air on ITV on Christmas Eve once more. Catherine hosted the first performance in 2021, and since then, the concert has solidified its place on the royal calendar.
Remarkably, the then-Duchess of Cambridge stunned the audience with her first-ever public piano performance, supporting Tom Walker on “For Those Who Can’t Be Here”; she later displayed this talent during the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest opening.
We are aware that from now until the end of the year, Catherine will be working a light schedule. As part of her gradual return to her royal duties, this will include a few public engagements over the next few months in addition to private meetings.
Following a major abdominal surgery in January, post-operative tests revealed Catherine’s cancer diagnosis, which she revealed in a personal video message in March.
Along with video of herself enjoying the great outdoors with William and their kids, the mother-of-three announced in her video message released on September 9th that she had finished a course of preventative chemotherapy.
“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family,” Catherine said, sharing her experience. We had to figure out how to travel through the rough seas and uncharted territory because life as we know it can change drastically in an instant.
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”
“Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus,” she subsequently stated. Even though my chemotherapy is over, I still have a long way to go before I fully recover, so I have to keep accepting each day as it comes.
“I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
