Prince William shares 13-word candid admission about homelessness
Prince William has made documentary about homelessness which will be streamed globally – the Prince of Wales’s second TV show to go worldwide – and in it are poignant images
Prince William shares his heartbreaking view on homelessness in a TV documentary tonight.
The Prince of Wales says: “I don’t believe we should be living with homelessness in the 21st century” in his programme, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness. It first airs at 9pm tonight on ITV1 and concludes at the same time on Thursday.
Prince William: We Can End Homelessness will then be streamed globally, the second Prince of Wales TV show to do so after his five-part series on The Earthshot Prize in 2021 on Discovery Plus.
It means William, 42, will pit himself against brother Prince Harry, who has also done several global shows, including Netflix’s sixpart Harry And Meghan, and Heart Of Invictus. Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43, signed a private commercial deal with Netflix for this in 2020 and the programme’s opener was the most-watched premiere for a show on that platform in 2022 in the United Kingdom.

But William’s documentary explores the issue of homelessness, an issue which he says he is driven to tackle following criticism about his privileged lifestyle and many residences.
In the programme, the Prince releases unseen pictures of him with mother Diana, at a homeless shelter — and mentions Harry by name for the first time in six years.
The show comes after dad-of-three William recently petted a wellwisher’s dog during a visit to Duchy College in Cornwall, and told the fan his dog Orla often sleeps on the bed alongside himself and Princess Kate.
Stunned fan Louise Harland told Hits Radio Cornwall: “[William] said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate. [He was] absolutely in love with my little dog. He asked what breed he was and he’s never met one of those breeds, he’s a Cockerjack, so he’s a little bit of a unique combination.”
Orla is not the family’s first pet. William and Kate’s previous dog Lupo – a wedding present from Kate’s brother James – died in November 2020.
