Makensy Manbeck Accuses This Big Brother 26 Houseguest Of Manipulating & Using Her In Alliance
After placing second in the Big Brother season 26 finale, Makensy Manbeck accused winner Chelsie Baham of manipulating and using her in their alliance. In the final week of Big Brother season 26, Chelsie, Makensy, and Cam Sullivan-Brown battled it out in the three-part final Head of Household (HOH) competition. Chelsie won Part 1, while Makensy won Part 2, and then Makensy beat Chelsie live in Part 3 on finale night. Makensy stayed loyal to Chelsie and chose her for the final two instead of Cam, but this resulted in Chelsie winning the game with a unanimous vote.
Big Brother 26 ‘s Makensy Manbeck admitted she’s not sure if Chelsie Baham would’ve brought her to the final 2 if the roles were reversed.
In an interview with EW, when asked if she thought that Chelsie would’ve brought her to the end if she’d been the final HOH, Makensy wasn’t so sure anymore. She answered, “I want to say yes, based on the conversations we had. However, based on the [jury’s] questions and how she answered them, I don’t think so.”
Makensy then went on to accuse Chelsie of some negative behavior. She said, “I think she was manipulating me and was using me, and if that is true, so be it. Because at least I can say that I was a good person and that I was true to myself.”
Makensy continued on by saying that staying true to herself might make her a “naive 22-year-old“ since she thought she had a “really good friend and really good ally” on Big Brother. If that’s the case, then “so be it” since she still won the final HOH competition. Makensy added, “I got to make the decision, and I got to make a decision for my game that showed who I was.”
I want to say yes, based on the conversations we had. However, based on the [jury’s] questions and how she answered them, I don’t think so. I think she was manipulating me and was using me, and if that is true, so be it. Because at least I can say that I was a good person and that I was true to myself. And whether that is making me now a naive 22-year-old because I thought I had a really good friend and a really good ally in this game, so be it, because I still won that last HOH I got to win. I got to make the decision, and I got to make a decision for my game that showed who I was.
What Makensy’s Accusation Against Chelsie Means
Makensy Lost Faith In Chelsie
Although Makensy stands by her decision to take Chelsie to the end, she obviously thinks differently of her after the way that Chelsie answered the jury’s questions. Chelsie wasn’t afraid to make Makensy look weaker than her in her answers, which is something that Makensy obviously picked up on. However, Makensy did allow Chelsie to manipulate her during her HOH reigns, especially when she convinced Makensy to use the Power of Veto to blindside her own ally, Leah Peters. Makensy now seems to be wondering if Chelsie was ever a true friend to her at all.
Our Take On Chelsie Allegedly Manipulating Makensy
It’s Sad To See Makensy Realize This Too Late
It’s sad to see that Makensy is feeling naive and manipulated by someone she thought was her friend. However, this is exactly why Chelsie won Big Brother. She played her game for herself, while Makensy seemed to be playing hers for Chelsie. Makensy even said during the finale that she didn’t care about the money, but $750,000 can be life-changing for people. There’s nothing wrong with Big Brother houseguests playing the game and manipulating people in order to win the grand prize.
It was hard to watch Makensy choose Chelsie to sit next to her in the final two instead of Cam, whom she easily could’ve beaten, because Big Brother fans already watched this scenario play out on Big Brother 16. Cody Calafiore stayed loyal to Derrick Levasseur and lost to him, when he could have easily beaten Victoria Rafaeli. However, like Cody, it was more important to Makensy to stay true to her word and be loyal than to win the grand prize. She played with integrity, which she should be very proud of.
Hopefully, Makensy and Chelsie will be able to talk about how Makensy feels, and Chelsie can explain that their friendship was real, but she was playing Big Brother. Chelsie did manipulate Makensy, but Makensy allowed it, whether due to being naive, loyal, or trying to further her own game as well by working with Chelsie. Like it or not, this is how Big Brother is played, and the jury obviously thought that Chelsie played the better game. Nevertheless, both Makensy and Chelsie should be proud of what they accomplished on Big Brother.
