MAFS Star Andrew Jury Dies Suddenly at Just 33 – A Tragedy That Stunned Fans Worldwide
The Married at First Sight New Zealand community is in mourning after the sudden passing of Andrew Jury at the age of 33.
Andrew, a beloved participant from the 2017 season, was fondly remembered by his fellow cast members Brett and Angel Renall and Benjamin Blackwell.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, they shared, “We had the absolute pleasure of filming and participating in a show which leaves us intricately linked for a lifetime,” emphasizing the deep connections forged during their time on the show.
Andrew, known for his charismatic and lively personality, had been paired with Vicky Gleon Stokes during the series.
While they stayed together until the season’s end, their relationship did not endure beyond the show.
In later interviews, Andrew voiced his criticism of the show’s matchmaking process, questioning the sincerity of the pairings and describing his match with Vicky as a complete mismatch.
He also expressed concerns about the conditions participants faced during filming.
Following the tragic news of Andrew’s death, Warner Brothers Discovery, the producers of MAFS New Zealand, extended their deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Their statement highlighted the importance of cast and crew welfare, noting, “WBD takes duty of care extremely seriously and has protocols in place regarding the well-being of cast and crew.
All MAFS NZ contributors have access to mental health professionals throughout the process, including pre-screening, during production, and after broadcast.”
May his soul rest in peace.
