As TMZ writes, “According to a witness at the second CVS location, Malin stole two bottles of alcohol and energy drinks from the pharmacy. Cops tell us an employee at CVS signed off on a citizen’s arrest form for the alleged theft. The reality star was transported to jail, where he was booked for misdemeanor theft and later released on a citation.”
Malin made his reality TV debut on Season 2 of Big Brother in 2001. He finished in eighth place overall, and returned for the show’s first “all-star” season five years later. He and Kirby made a deep run to the end of the game, and Malin was able to pull out a dominating 6-1 win over his then-“showmance” partner Erika Landin. Malin made his final Big Brother appearance seven seasons later, entering the house as a “coach” for the new players along three other illustrious alumni. He and the other coaches became full-fledged players a month in, and he was evicted in tenth place.
Unfortunately, this most recent arrest serves as the latest in a list of controversies surrounding Malin following his time on Big Brother. In August 2019, he was arrested for stalking Kirby, allegedly out of anger after the latter refused to do a season of The Amazing Race together. In June 2021, he was found guilty of felony stalking and sentenced to two years probation. The month after, Malin found himself back in court, pleading guilty to a misdemeanor DUI. And in September 2022, he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, hoping to have his numerous debts wiped clean.
